Our Earth-to-Skin ingredients deliver extraordinary results.
We're not just talking about skin. Our consciously-sourced, whole plant ingredients are produced by women, for women, to empower women. Read about each of the ingredients we use - where we source them, how they are produced, and their social and environmental impact.
Our ingredients are produced by small-scale artisan producers, family-owned farms, and women-centered co-operatives around the world. In alignment with our mission, we place a special emphasis on co-operatives organized for empowering women by paying them fair, living wages for their work. Each ingredient is carefully vetted and selected based on it's ability to meet our uncompromising standards across five categories - Origin, Composition, Sensory Experience, Sustainability, and Bioavailability.
ORIGIN Each carefully chosen ingredient comes from Organic or Sustainably Wild-Harvested plant material that never comes into contact with harsh or synthetic chemicals - from the moment it's harvested to the moment it reaches your skin.
COMPOSITION Our oils are unrefined, unprocessed, and raw with all of the healing benefits of the fresh plant. We select those ingredients which contain high levels of the active phytonutrients essential for skin health.
SENSORY EXPERIENCE Our ingredients, with their luxurious textures, diverse colors, and compelling aromas, call us to design simple formulations that allow each ingredient to shine.
SUSTAINABILITY We support and promote Fair Trade practices by sourcing ingredients that are sustainable for producers, their communities, and the environments they live in. For this reason, our products are 100% Palm oil and Palm oil derivative-free.
BIOAVAILABILITY We ensure that our ingredients' active components are bioavailable thru topical application and absorption for maximum efficacy.

KOKUM ☾ Our unrefined, Wild-harvested Kokum Butter comes from Western Ghat, a region in India where Kokum trees are abundant and revered. Wild Kokum trees grow in forested areas, far away from chemical fertilizers and pesticides. We’ve chosen to use unrefined Kokum Butter as most commercially sold, refined Kokum Butter is solvent extracted, chemically-refined, neutralized, bleached, and deodorized. Our Kokum Butter is made in the traditional method by physical extraction techniques, is filtered to remove kernel particles, and then arrives to us in it’s pure, unrefined state.
UCUUBA ☼ Our Ucuuba butter comes from the Amazonian region of Brazil, where Ucuuba trees are native and endemic to the floodplains. It is cold-pressed, unrefined, and organic.
MAFURA ☾ Our Mafura Butter comes from trees along the rivers and coast of Southern Africa. The seeds of the Mafura, or the Cape Mahogany, tree are collected, processed and Fairly Traded from seed harvesters, then cold-pressed to produce the creamy, unrefined butter we use in our formulations.
SACHA INCHI ☼ The Sacha Inchi seeds used to produce our Sacha Inchi Oil, come from wild trees that grow at the foot of the Andes mountains on the very edge of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. The oil is cold-pressed, unrefined, and Wild-harvested.
GUAVA SEED ☼ Our Guava Seed Oil is mechanically cold-pressed from Organically cultivated Guava fruit seeds at a small farm in the South of Brazil. The seeds used are generally a waste product of the fruit and puree industries, unless used for Oil extraction. The production of Guava Seed oil allows these rural farmers to generate more income using materials they would typically throw away.
BORAGE Our Borage Seed oil is super-critically extracted from Organically cultivated crops in Germany. The oil is extracted on-site from the whole seed by supercritical CO2 extraction, a process that uses liquidized carbon dioxide to extract the oil while retaining and preserving the complete nutrient profile of the seed.
ANDIROBA / GUARANA INFUSION ☼ Our unrefined Andiroba oil is sourced in the Peruvian Amazon, where our producer collects kernels removed from the fallen fruits of the Andiroba trees between January and April. They cold-press small batches of the oil, while the remaining kernels are kept under refrigeration and pressed four times a year. This allows us to source fresh Andiroba oil with all of the therapeutic properties of the fresh seed, all year round. The precious oil is then slowly infused with sun-dried Guarana berries, also native and endemic to the Amazon forest.
PEQUI ☼ The whole, unrefined Pequi oil we source is extremely rare. Pequi fruit is native to the central highlands of Brazil, also known as the Brazilian Cerrado. Between October and March, when the Pequi fruit is perfectly ripe, the oil is laboriously extracted from both the pulp and seeds of the fruit. It is cold-pressed, unrefined, and Organically cultivated.
BURITI ☼ The Buriti fruit is native to the central highlands of Brazil, also known as the Brazilian Cerrado, where the ripe fruits are wild-harvested and cold pressed at a family-owned manufacturing facility in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest.
SEA BUCKTHORN Our Sea Buckthorn fruit oil comes from Organically cultivated crops in Ukraine, under the vigilance of the European Organic Soil Association's strict standards. Artificial fertilizers are banned and the farmers develop fertile soil by rotating crops and using compost, manure and clover. Our oil is extracted from the whole fruit by supercritical CO2 extraction, a process that uses liquidized carbon dioxide to extract the oil while retaining and preserving the complete nutrient profile of the berry. Because Sea Buckthorn berries yield a very low quantity of oil, much of the Sea Buckthorn oil found on the market is inauthentic and adulterated by the addition of other, lower quality oils. Our Sea Buckthorn oil is 100% pure.
CACAY ☾ Our cold-pressed, unrefined Cacay oil is produced and harvested from wild growing trees in the western Brazilian Amazon. Local families gather Cacay nuts that have fallen from trees in the wild and cultivate new Cacay trees to harvest and sell for needed extra income. Nothing harvested goes to waste. After the oil is cold-pressed, the nutrient-rich meat of the dried nut is ground into a flour that is used in cooking. The inner peel of the nuts are utilized as animal feed or as compost/fertilizer, while the hard outer shell is useful as fuel for heating and cooking needs. One of the most sustainable oils on the planet, the harvesting of Cacay oil helps to keep Amazonian soil fertile and productive as the trees add nutrients back to the soil after cultivation. Cacay oil is a valuable player in the fight against the current deforestation of the Amazonian rainforest.
ACAI ☼ Our Acai berries are wild-harvested by rural families in the central highlands of Brazil, also known as the Brazilian Cerrado. Much of the Acai oil used in skincare is pressed from the dry seeds of the acai berry after the pulp has been removed for juice making. The oil is brownish in color and carries none of the nutrients found in the green, rich oil cold-pressed from fresh Acai pulp. Our unrefined Acai oil is cold-pressed from the whole berry, including the pulp and skin, and yields a beautiful, dark green oil exceptionally rich in chlorophyll. Our Acai oil is sourced in small volume and helps to support the small, rural communities in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest.
GREEN COFFEE ☼ Our unrefined Green Coffee Oil comes from a coffee farm in the South of Brazil, which is Certified Organic by BCS Öko Garantie and by the Brazilian Government. It is cold-pressed from raw coffee beans harvested while green, which are then manually crushed and cold-pressed to produce the exquisite oil.
BRAZIL NUT ☼ Our Brazil Nuts are sourced from Brazil, in both the Amazonian rainforest and Brazilian Pantanal, or tropical wetlands. The mature fruits fall from wild trees, are collected on the ground, and then cold-pressed to produce our rich, unrefined Brazil Nut oil.
XIMENIA ☾ Our unrefined, ethically traded Ximenia oil comes from Namibia, Africa where fruits are harvested from the ground after they ripen and fall from the trees. Harvesters carry the fruit to their homesteads where they are left to dry. The dried fruits are then cracked and de-pulped by hand, and then Fairly traded to artisan producers who cold press the kernels to produce our nutrient-rich Ximenia oil. The women who perform this work are able to generate a substantial cash income, especially in the off season when work is scarce and Ximenia fruit is abundant. This income is critical for these women - often single mothers - and their families.
AMARANTH SEED ☼ Our Supercritical Amaranth seed oil comes from organically cultivated crops in India, which are then processed by an Certified Organic facility in Germany. Our oil is extracted from the whole seed by supercritical CO2 extraction, a process that uses liquidized carbon dioxide to extract the oil while retaining and preserving the complete nutrient profile of the seed. Our current batch contains 12.2% squalane.
MILK THISTLE Our Milk Thistle oil is cold pressed from Organically grown plants under the vigilance of the European Organic Soil Association's strict standards. It is harvested and pressed by a family-owned, Certified Organic farm in Ukraine.
WHITE MUSTARD SEED Our White Mustard Seed oil is cold pressed from Organically grown white mustard plants under the vigilance of the European Organic Soil Association's strict standards. It is harvested and pressed by the same family-owned, Certified Organic farm in Ukraine.
TEMU LAWAK (JAVANESE TURMERIC) ☼ Our Temu Lawak, or Javanese Turmeric, root is cultivated by a rural farmer in Java, West Indonesia. The supercritical oil contains all of the therapeutic, lipohilic components found in the root itself and is extracted by supercritical CO2 extraction, a process that uses liquidized carbon dioxide to extract the oil while retaining and preserving the complete nutrient profile of the root. It contains no solvent residues, no inorganic salts, and no heavy metals – only pure, nutrient-rich oil.SANDALWOOD SEED Our Sandalwood Seed oil is extracted from the seed kernel of sustainable and ethically farmed Sandalwood trees in central Australia. Our oil is extracted from the whole seed by supercritical CO2 extraction, a process that uses liquidized carbon dioxide to extract the oil while retaining and preserving the complete nutrient profile of the seed.
